THE ORIGINAL. THE BEST. THE MACEBELL.

Well, after reading Big Kevin's post on Macebell Sport I thought it sounded like fun so last night I put some Tiger Balm on my elbows and warmed up and set my timer for five minutes
then with my 10k Macebell I did 190 reps in the 360 degree movement. Not bad for a start I'm sure I can get pass 200 reps and I am just as sure that some of the younger Maulers out there can do even better!
Macebell Sport is fun and this movement is going to grow bigtime!

Hi Rik,

Is that 190 total, or 190 in each direction?!

Hi Linus, I just went in one direction,190 straight reps,in the past, at a slower pace,I have done 600,800, and once in 33 min straight I did 1,000 reps. this time,I went at a much faster pace and only went in one direction---I just wanted to see what I could do in 5 min.
Usually for my training I go 60 seconds on ,then rest for 20 seconds and repeat that for 10,20 or sometimes,30 sets. I like the idea of Macebell Sport because it gives us all something to train for; a mark to aim at.

Wow - well done!

How much do you think a hand switch would affect your numbers? Do you think you'd still end up with 190 (about 95 in each direction)? I curious how the rules regarding symmetry of reps laid out by Kevin might affect our numbers...

I think that switching hands would slow me down a bit,yes I do---the less time you spend on adjustments the more time you can swing the Macebell. I spoke with Kevin on the phone last night and we will probably meet up this Sunday and discuss how to standardize macebell sport so that it can be something that can be competed with a video contest and everyone could submit their best effort. This is all new Linus but guys like you,Kevin,Jake, myself&all the other maulers have the chance to build this thing beyond the kettlebell and the clubbell movement.(Both of which I respect and both of which I make use of in my training.)
I just think the Macebell is the very coolest training tool out there!

Guy I would like ot see this in both directions one way for 2min 30sec then the other way. This will keep every thing working together. I have seen big gains by going both direction for reps and time. I train with almost every tool out there and this one has definately been one that has added great function & gains to my workouts
