I send my arms as far back as I can (without losing my balance). This means my upper arms are about even with my ears, maybe a bit further back, but you get the idea. And I don't let the mace pull my forearms too far down. When I watch myself, I see…

Lift first. Than allow the mb to fall and follow a circle pattern behind you. Catch the mb in front on a lower level. Raise it and start all over again.

About Me:
Born in Brooklyn (NY), raised in Long Island, and currently attending Purdue University in Indiana. I love the grappling scene, and hope to establish a catch club in the near future.
At Purdue, there are a lot of clubs available for people that love martial arts. Certified judo, bjj, tkd, karate, and amateur wrestling clubs are available during the semester. Good stuff.

Just A Quick Update

360 Swings - 75 - 80 reps without rest.
2 - 10 Swings - 3 to 4 minutes without rest.
Gravediggers - 40 - 50 reps without rest.
Levered Curls - 2 sets of 10.
Walking the plank & bridge - 10 times on either one.

The Conan Swing - The Ultimate Test of Strength against Torque

(At least I think it is.)

Ever since my purchase of this macebell, my strength has increased to the point that my friends have noticed it my grappling sessions. All the exercises mentioned have helped to develop me in different ways, but I think accomplishing this motion would be true test of one's mastery over the macebell. It combines the Gravedigger, Levered Curl, 360, and 2-to-7 into one swing. So this is going to be my personal challenge before moving on to the 15kg. Anyone else is welcome… Continue
